너무 늦은감이 있지만, 오늘 문득 AppFresh를 돌려보니 업데이트가 있더군요.

때늦게 업데이트를 하여 보았습니다.

다음 그림과 같이 순서대로 하여 주면 됩니다.

1. OSx86 Tool을 실행시켜, "Add EFI Strings/Boot Flag" 를 클릭한다.

2. "GFX Strings"를 선택한다.

3. GFX String Creator에서 "Choose"를 클릭한다.

4. 화면에 표시되는 그래픽 카드중 자신에 맞는 그래픽 카드를 선택한다.

5. 전 화면의 Hexadecimal EFI String (device-properties) 의 항목의 GFX-String 값을 복사한다.

6. 전 화면의 Boot Editor 에 그림과 같이 붙여넣어주고 "Apply changes to com.apple.Boot.plist"를 클릭하여 적용하여 준다.

기타 드라이버를 설치할 필요는 없습니다.  

가장 간단하게 설치하는 것이 향후 Software Update가 나오더래도 간단하게 업그레이드 할 수 있습니다.

이 방법의 장점은

1. 기존 Apple사에서 제공하는 Nvidia 드라이버를 그대로 사용합니다.

2. com.Apple.boot.plist에 GFX-String만 적용하여 줍니다.

3. 기타 해킨드라이버를 설치하지 않으므로 향후 버전 업그레이드시에도 간편하게 업그레이드가 가능합니다.

4. 기타 불필요한 패키지나 드라이버를 설치하지 않으므로 유지보수하기에도 간편합니다.

다음과 같이 RETAIL DVD Image를 USB 메모리 스틱 혹은 내장형 하드디스크 또는 외장형 하드디스크에 복원하여 줍니다.

1. 해킨 시스템에서는 부팅시에 BootCD(BOOT-132 CD)나 혹은 Boot-132 USB로 부팅하여  내/외장형 하드디스크 혹은 USB 메모리 스틱을 로딩하여 부팅합니다.

Retail DVD이미지가 심어질 파티션은 적어도 7GB 이상 되어야 하겠지요. 그림에서만 61.5 MB 를 사용하였습니다만,,,,,

2. 리억 MAC 에서는 CMD + Space 를 눌러 Retail DVD 이미지가 심어진 USB 메모리를 선택하여 설치진행합니다.

다음과 같이 RETAIL DVD Image를 8G 이상 USB 메모리에 복원하여 줍니다.

1. 소스(Source)에는 Retail DVD 이미지를 끌어다가 놓습니다.
2. 대상(Destination)에는 8G USB 메모리의 파티션을 끌어다 놓습니다.
3. 마지막으로 복원(Restore)을 눌러줍니다.

We were dreaming about it, and Netkas did. Originating from the Hackintosh projects, those "extensions" can be installed on most PC version of Radeon without requiring to flash the BIOS of those cards. How does it work? In summary, those extensions include part of the EFI code required for the card to be recognized by the Mac and to have them active in Mac OS X. Hereafter are results obtained after installing a Radeon HD 4890 PC version in a Mac Pro 2008:

Hereafter is the procedure to get to this point:

• Install Radeon HD 48x0 drivers shipping with Mac Pro 2009: http://www.sendspace.com/file/gvsi12
• Install extensions allowing recognition of those PC version cards: http://rapidshare.de/files/46982841/ATI_Init.pkg.html
• Install patched extension to activate 3D acceleration (only for cards not recognized by the system as HD 4890): http://rapidshare.de/files/46893369/accel.tar.bz2.html You can also for those cards use the application kexthelper.

This procedure works with most Radeon: HD 4870, 4870X2 (recognized as 2 HD 4870), HD 3870, HD 4890, ... On our card, the first DVI works perfectly as a DVI Dual Link port, while the second one is only a single link. Beside this detail, everything is just working fine. Unlike with the Mac Edition card, such extension-activated card is becoming only active during the loading of Mac OS X and all components, and not immediately after the boot. This could be a problem is you want to boot from another partition or as a single users, however, it is so much easier than flashing the original BIOS of the card, that it should be considered by most users.
