Upgrade from Leopard to Snow Leopard, 10A432?

It can be upgraded from 10.5.7 to 10A432.

Try to install Existing Leopard Hard Disk. It just upgrade from 10.5.7 to 10.6.0

Then update 10.6.1 by software Update.

But, you have to replace Sleepenabler.kext from Netkas' site when you update to 10.6.2.

It sometimes did not working GFX-String in 10.6.2, especially nVidia 7xxx series, 8xxx series.

if you have black screen after booting followed by lord_webi's guide.


delete following prefs/plists if existing in directory (boot with -x):

/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.preference.display*
/System/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.preference.display*
/Users/YOURUSER/Library/Prefereneces/ByHost/com.apple.preference.display*

same to *loginWindow* prefs/plists ... in all that directories if existing ...

restart and your EFI string will work again ...

물론, 이전에 Digital Dreamer가 해킨 이미지를 이용, VooDoo 커널을 이용하여 설치성공하였습니다만, 어디까지나 해킨 이미지였습니다.

개발자 버전을 이용하여서 정식 성능은 아닙니다만 기존 맥프로 옥타코어보다 성능이 뛰어납니다.

뭐 해킨이 안정성 떨어지고 어쩌구 저쩌구 말들이 많은데 설치하기 나름입니다.

설치 방식들은 다음 글에 기술하였으니 참고하시기 바랍니다.

어떤 방식을 이용하느냐는 자신에게 달려 있습니다.

Mac OS X Update 10.6.2 is an update to Mac OS X 10.6.

Installation Instructions

The Mac OS X 10.6.2 Update (Combo) updates

- Mac OS X 10.6 and 10.6.1

- Any earlier seed of Mac OS X v10.6.2 ONLY AFTER installing the included reversioner. If you installed a previous seed of Mac OS X v10.6.2, please install the enclosed Reversioner.pkg, do not restart but install the update immediately.

The Mac OS X 10.6.2 Update (delta) updates

- Mac OS X 10.6.1

- Any earlier seed of Mac OS X v10.6.2 ONLY AFTER installing the included reversioner. If you installed a previous seed of Mac OS X v10.6.2, please install the enclosed Reversioner.pkg, do not restart but install the update immediately.

Please be aware that you will not be able to revert back to your previous system after updating. Please install this update on a system you are prepared to erase if necessary.

Bios Setting.
As my experience,

if Jmicron SATA/PATA controller is Enabled. No.1 Black Port, rounded Green Color, Above of Pic1.

SATA mode should be Basic(IDE) until 10.6.1.

After update to 10.6.2, it doesn’t matter Basic or AHCI.

But, Graphic Card is something missing as configured by OSX86 Tools.

I’ll correct Graphic Card Information.



No.2 is General SATA Port, No.3 is Backup Port.

I added the source and the DSDT compiled versions with added support for the ATI 4870 and without any VGA.
DSDT BIOS code is based on 2504.

Unfortunately, some values in the DSDT are generated depending on what is the processor model.
